Description
NAICS Code: 334516 The U.S. EPA intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Banian Technologies for the purchase of an Arsenic Speciation System (HPLC-HG-AFS) under authority of FAR Part 6.302-1. The Arsenic Speciation system shall (1) provide continuous on-line separation and direct quantification of multiple arsenic species (including arsenate, arsenite, monomethylarsonic acid and dimethylarsinic acid) to an instrument detection limit of at least 10 ug/L in a liquid matrix via automatic fluorescence spectrometry, (2) include a Hydride Generator-Atomic Fluorescence Spectrometer (HG-AFS), (3) include a liquid Chromatograph (HPLC), (4) be installed within a bench top space of six feet length, three feet width, and four feet height, (5) be controlled via a computer operating within a Windows environment. Software for control of HPLC and HG-AFS components shall be compatible with windows, (6) include a one-year warranty, commencing from the date of system acceptance, on all parts and labor, (7) include appropriate training for at least three individuals who will be operating the system and (8) include a complete set of all operator and maintenance manuals, including those covering peripheral items. This notice is not a request for quotations. EPA source research indicates Banian Technologies is the only source able to satisfy the Government's requirements. However, any firm believing itself capable of meeting EPA requirements may submit technical documentation to establish the potential of complying with the statement of work. Such documentation must be submitted within 15 days of electronic posting of this notice. A determination not to compete the proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement or to proceed on a sole source basis. This acquisition is being processed under FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The applicable NAICS code is 334516. The anticipated award date is 7/24/02.
