- Description
- The United States Air Force Academy intends to acquire under FAR parts 12 and 13 an injection seeded Nd:YAG laser (linewidth <0.003 cm-1) with a continuously tunable narrow linewidth OPO (linewidth <0.08 cm-1, tunable from 445 to 1750 nm with no degeneracy gaps) OPO doubler (continuous tuning from 222.5 to 450nm), IR extension and IR aitotracker to provide complete coverage from 1.7 micron to 4 microns. We also require a non-resonant OPO amplifier to avoid back conversion in the amplifier and resulting decrease in beam quality. Total table space for the complete OPO laser package (OPO and doubler) will not exceed 690 in2. The Academy intends to acquire this laser from Continuum of Santa Clara CA. Interested firms have THREE (3) days from the publication of this synopsis to submit to the identified point of contact product information that can meet these specifications. Such technical information will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received after the THREE (3) days or without the required information will be considered non-responsive to the synopsis and will not be considered. Based upon responses to this notice, a determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competitive basis, is solely within the discretion of the Government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer, which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
