Description

United States Air Forces Europe is contemplating a modification to contract F08626-98-C0029, USAFE Rangeless Interim System (URITS). The purpose of the modification is to: 1) Extend the period of performance of the current contract 3 years to 30 Sep 07, 2) Add a 5 year lease of 47 new additional Air Combat Training (ACT) pods for URITS with an option to purchase the new pods at the end of the lease, 3) Add contractor logistics support for the new ACT pods and three years of contractor logistics support of the existing URITS assets. This contract action is contemplated to be sole source based on the fact that URITS was specifically developed for USAFE. URITS is a derivative of the Range Applications Program system called the Metrics Autonomous ACTS, which is made by Metric Systems Corporation, 645 Anchor Street, Fort Walton Beach, Florida 32548. The new pods shall be fully compatible with the existing URITS, including hardware and software interfaces such as the Data Transfer Devices (DTDs) and Datalink capability. In addition, the new pods shall have system Certification and Accreditation mandated by the Chief Staff of the Air Force. The primary purpose of this action is to provide small business access to acquisition information and enhance competition by identifying contracting and subcontracting activities.
