Description
The National Marine Fisheries Service, Hollings Marine Laboratory, U. S. Department of Commerce intends to procure a Plasma Mass Spectrometer System through Thermol Elemental, the only known source for such equipment. This is the only dradrupole mass spectrometer system on the market that is capable of using gas collision cell technology and ion kinetic energy discrimination to selectively reduce molecular interferences. Collision cell technology is needed for the accurate quantification of elements including selenium, chromium, tin arsenic and iron in marine animal blood and tissue matrices. The system will be used to support the marine cryogenic specimen banking and marine contaminant monitoring projects at the Hollings Marine Laboratory. The Government will accept similar products from another vendor, however, the products must be equivalent in form and function. The following items must be supplied with this procurement: X7 ICPMS Mass Spectrometer System. The Mass Spectrometer System must include: Integral 1250W, solid-state crystal controlled 27MHz ICP generator; Accessible, open sample introduction system using a peltier cooled, quartz, impact bead spray chamber; Computer controlled adjustment of the single piece self-locating torch in the x, y, and z planes; Multi-channel, PC controlled, integral peristaltic pump; Computer controlled mass flow controllers on all plasma gas lines (nebulizer, auxiliary and coolant); PlasmaScreen Plus ICP torch for unparalleled cool plasma and hot screen performance. Full software control to allow switching between hot and cool modes within a sample run; High performance Interface technology providing high ion transmission, low polyatomic ion formation and a uniform mass response; Unique Infinity Lens system providing ultra low backgrounds and the highest S/N specification available in quadrupole ICP-MS systems; High performance, off-axis quadrupole analyzer providing excellent transmission and abundance sensitivity across the full mass range 2-255amu; PC controlled resolution setting; Unique, 3 chamber vacuum design comprising of a single rotary pump and a single high performance split-flow turbo pump; ?Plug and Play' Auto Range Plus, discrete dynode electron multiplier detector providing greater than 8 orders of dynamic range via simultaneous analogue/pulse counting detection; PC with Windows 2000, monitor, keyboard and mouse (requires a printer); PlasmaLab tm Version 2.0 Windows 2000 software provides seamless control of the X Series ICP-MS and accessories featuring PlasmaLab Intelligently Controlled Operations (PICO) Technology; TechConnect tm remote support and diagnostics software. ALSO, the following items are needed in this procurement: Air Cooled Water Chiller (50/60Hz), Automated Collision Cell Option (CCT ed) using two computer-controlled mass flow controllers, a combination of any two gases can automatically be introduced into the collision cell to selectively reduce molecular interferences; Cetac ASX510 Autosampler 50/60Hz including a set of 4X60 position racks and 14ml tubes; External Trigger Board, Monitor Upgrade 19". OPTIONAL ITEMS that may be purchased are: Upgrade from 17" Monitor to 19" Monitor; HP 800 Series Desk Jet Printer; Xi Interface technology providing exceptional matrix tolerance, low polyatomic formation and a uniform mass response (standard on the X5); Additional Gas Kit - includes a 0-500 ml/min computer controlled, mass flow controller and tubing necessary for addition of a 4th gas stream. Can be used to provide a sweep gas with low flow nebulizers or a second gas for mixed plasma applications. Requires the Inert Spray Chamber Kit, 4600359. Organic Matrix Kit - includes a 0-500ml/min computer controlled, mass flow controller and tubing necessary for addition of oxygen into plasma, a quartz spray chamber, a 0.1 ml/min low flow glass concentric nebulizer and isoversinic tubing necessary for the analysis of organic solvents; Inert, single pass conical impact bead spray chamber kit, includes an inert impact bead spray chamber (4600259), inert elbow and semi-demountable torch body (3600416). Requires a torch injector and an inert nebulizer; Fully inert ESI sample introduction system includes: 2X PFA nebulizers. PFA Double pass Spray Chamber, Demountable Quartz Torch, 1.8 mm id Sapphire injector; 2mmWide bore injector, one piece, quartz torch; Alumina injector, Sapphire injector, Platinum injector; Burgener, PTFE High Solids Nebulizer - HF resistant, for use with high solid matrices; Platinum Tipped Sample Cone (6mm Pt insert) High Performance Interface-Pack of 1. This item will be a firm-fixed price contract and will be procured under the FAR Commercial Items regulations. Solicitation Number WC1330-02-RP-0017MLW will be issued on or about July 24, 2002. NAICS code 334519.applies. All responsible sources may submit a bid and information on its capabilities to provide the products. All responsible sources may submit a request for bid and information about their capabilities to provide these products which will be considered by the agency. Firms interested in receiving a copy of the solicitation shall submit a request in writing to the attention of Mamie L. Wandick at the address listed above. Facsimile requests for the solicitation will be accepted at (816) 426-7530..
