Description
THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS NOT FOR THE PURPOSE OF AN ACQUISITION. THERE IS NO SOLICITATION PACKAGE AVAILABLE. The Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division, Lakehurst, NJ, seeks potential additional sources for Qualified Products List (QPL) QPL-22072-11, Products Qualified under Military Specification MIL-H-22072C(AS), 5 March 1984, "Hydraulic Fluid, Catapult, NATO Code Number H-579". Basic requirements include: compatibility with previously qualified fluids; capability of the fluid to be handled by/come into contact with personnel without special protective equipment required (the fluid shall not be causative of contact dermatitis); specific gravity at 20 degrees C of 1.04 - 1.09; Viscosity Max cSt(SUS) at -18 degrees C of 1764 (8100), Min CSt(SUS) at 38 degrees C of 39.6 to 45.1 (185 to 210), Min cSt(SUS) at 54 degrees C, minimum of 21.7 (105); Compression ignition - no indication of combustion at compression ratios of 50 to 1 and below. The hydraulic fluid is utilized in Aircraft Carrier steam Catapult systems. In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 9.201, this notice is published to solicit additional sources or products in order to seek qualification in accordance with the QPL. Interested parties must contact the Contracting Officer for copies of the QPL specification. The Government will not pay for the costs of qualification, except as provided in FAR 9.204(a)(2).
