This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice, and FAR Part 13.5. This requirement is Full and Open competition. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 333911, with a Small Business Size Standard of 500 employees. Please identify your business size in your response based upon this standard. The reference number is F33DOL21760200, and is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). The requirement is for ALL NEW PARTS. No USED OR REFURBISHED. This requirement is for two Magnetically Levitated Turbomolecular Pumps, a highly specialized hydrocarbon-free ultrahigh vacuum system, optimized for pumping light gases such as hydrogen. The minimum technical requirements for these pumps are the following: The vacuum interior of the turbopumps must be absolutely hydrocarbon-free. This requirement excludes both grease and oil lubricated turbopumps from consideration. No grease-lubricated o-ring may be used to make any seal exposed to the vacuum interior. The turbopumps must be capable of pumping speeds for hydrogen gas in excess of 100 liters/second at inlet pressures up to 1 millitorr. The turbopumps must deliver a minimum compression ratio for hydrogen gas of 10,000. However, a higher compression ratio is preferred, and will result in a superior technical score during evaluation of vendors responses. The turbopumps must be capable of operating in any orientation from vertical to horizontal, but inverted operation is not required. The turbopumps must be equipped for both water-and air-cooled operation. The turbopump inlet flange will be 100% compatible with the 6-inch Varian ConFlat flange. The turbopump inlet will be equipped with a protective screen or shield. The turbopump outlet flange will be 100% compatible with the NW25 EVAC aluminum seal. Any purge inlet flange present will be 100% compatible with the NW16 EVAC aluminum seal.
