Description
The National Cancer Institute(NCI), Advanced Technology Center plans to procure from Beckman Coulter, 4300 N. Harbor Blvd., Fullerton, CA 92834 for a Multimek Automated Pipettor 384. The NCI's Advanced Technology Center's mission and goals are to increase the volume of array production within the ATC. Microarray experiments require instrumentation that can be used for microplate replication, reagent setup/additions, PCR setup, full-plate serial dilutions and plate consolidations. The Multimek 384-Pipettor is essential for this process and is interchangeable with the Biomek FX which is already in place at the ATC. The 834-channel head pipettes from 1-30 ul and the pneumatic tip loading give the instrument increased reliability which is essential for research in Microarray technologies. There is only one instrument known to the government that can handle 384 samples automatically using existing microplates within the ATC. The Multimek Automated Pipettor is the only instrument known to the Government that is compatible with existing equipment. This is not a request for competitive quotations, however, if any interested party believes it can meet the above requirement, it may submit a statement of capabilities. This statement must demonstrate that an alternate system provided will be equivalent in quality, function and compatibility. The statement and any other supporting documentation must be furnished in writing and must contain material in sufficient detail to allow the NCI to determine if the party meets the requirement. Information must be received in the contracting office no later than 1:30 P.M. EDT (local Washington, D.C. time) on July 18, 2002. If you have further questions please contact Cynthia Brown, (301) 402-4509. The NAICS Code 334516 and the business size standard are 500 employees.
