- Description
- CMS' Center for Beneficiary Choices intends to award a sole-source procurement to Pittsburgh Regional Healthcare Initiative (PRHI). PRHI's patient safety initiatives will allow CMS to directly address many of the steps laid out in the federal response report to the President entitled, "doing what counts for patient safety." The statement of work asks the contractor to define: 1) the clinical process and outcome measures for CABG care that are improved through use of a cardiac registry in a competitive regional market that shares and benchmarks data, 2) the patient safety measures that are improved through the community-wide use of systems to track and report medication errors and surgical site infections in cardiac surgery, 3) measurable interactions between the cardiac registry and patient safety systems in improving cardiac outcomes, and 4) the value-added to the cardiac registry and patient safety tracking systems by introducing the TPS management framework to select cardiac units.
