Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has a requirement for the removal of existing, recalled, Omega sprinklers, and for the installation of a new flow control sprinkler system with standard upright sprinklers and associated controls. The work is to be performed in Building 235, at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Gaithersburg, Maryland campus. A complete statement of work shall be issued with the Request for Quotation (RFQ). - The period of performance is 28 days after receipt of the notice to proceed. - This requirement is being procured using the simplified procedures identified in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13, as supplemented by FAR Part 36, Construction and Architect-Engineer Contracts, and the full solicitation package. - The procurement is 100% set aside for small business. The NAICS code is 235110, the SIC is 1711 and the size standard is $11.5M. - The magnitude of construction is anticipated between $25,000 and $100,000. - Contract award will be made on the basis of the best value to the Government with price, technical, and past performance factors considered. The RFQ, amendments, and all questions and answers related to this procurement will be made available via the Internet at http://www.fedbizops.gov/. The RFQ is anticipated to be released on or about July 9, 2002 and will only be available via the Internet at the above web site. Potential offerors are responsible for accessing the web site. Interested parties must respond to the RFQ in order to be considered for award. There is no written RFQ available, and telephone requests will not be honored. Potential offerors are required to direct all questions, via e-mail to Joan.Smith@nist.gov. All responsible sources may submit a quotation, which shall be considered by the agency.
