Description
NA The US Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District, is soliciting for contractors to provide all equipment and operators for timber removal, transportation and site restoration for the Fern Ridge Lake Project for a base year (August 1, 2002 through May 31, 2003) and an option year (June 1, 2003 through May 31, 2004). The actual period of performance is August 9, 2002 through December 1, 2002 and June 1, 2003 through September 30, 2003, respectively. Site inspection of the most probable sites for mobilizati on of equipment services under these specifications will be conducted on 17 July 2002. Prospective bidders who wish to participate shall meet at the Fern Ridge Lake Project Office at 26275 Clear Lake Road, Junction City, Oregon, at 9:00 AM. The following specifications for equipment and operator services are intended to support Government activities engaged in the recovery, disposition of fallen timber at Fern Ridge Lake Project, Oregon. The disposit ion of equipment and operators under this contract will be directed by the Government in an effort to take best advantage of variable site conditions and to compliment site cleanup and material handling efforts by others. Generally, it is the Government?s intent to direct the mobilization of all or any portion of the equipment specified under this contract to commence work at only one operational site identified within this scope of work at a given time, however, different operations and/or work tasks with in the scope of work may be directed at different work sites concurrently (i.e., timber cutting, slash busting, and transportation services). The level of service may be adjusted or suspended entirely by the Government, however, once mobilized the contra ctor?s equipment and operators will be expected to perform various functions in concert to effect the efficient removal, redistribution and transport of whole trees and merchantable log materials. With regard to the transportation of logs with attached roo t wads, the Government will provide equipment and operators to accomplish off-loading at the designated destinations. The Contractor will be expected to unload merchantable logs at the destination utilizing a self-loading log transport truck. The Contracto r will be expected to plan and coordinate various activities with the Government Representative to accomplish the transportation of material efficiently. The Contractor will be prepared to mobilize equipment and commence work within (5) five days followi ng award and acceptance. Contractor operations will be limited to daylight hours during Monday through Saturday as directed by the Government. This acquisition is unrestricted to all businesses. Contractors are invited to request a copy of the subject Re quest for Quotation (RF) by registering onto the Portland District website at https://www.nwp.usace.army.mil/ct. In order for contractors to conduct business with the Federal Government, contractors must be certified in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR). Contractors can access the CCR website for free at http://www.ccr.gov.
