Description

The USAF will issue a RFP for the 1st Stage Turbine Engine Blade applicable to the F100PW229 Engine of the F15/F16 Aircraft. NSN: 2840-01-357-7695NZ; P/N: 4080352, QUANTITY: 400; UOI: each;DELIVERY: Mar2003 to Tinker AFB, OK; Predominant material: Nickel Alloy; Size/Dimensions: 4 inches X 2 inches X 4 inches. This item consists of a pair of airfoils attached to an inner and outer platform that directs hot gas from the combustor to the first stage blades on the F100PW229 engine. It is not anticipated that a paper solicitation will be issued. Anticipated award date: 30AUG02. A firm-fixed price, fixed-quantity contract is anticipated. No telephone solicitation requests will be accepted. To be eligible for contract award, offerors must be approved and qualified. TO: Pratt and Whitney, East Hartford, CT. Authority: 10 USC 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. NOTE: An ombudsman has been appointed to hear concerns from offerors or potential offerors during the proposal development phase of this acquisition.The purpose of the ombudsman is not to diminish the authority of the program manager or contracting officer, but to communicate contractor concerns, issues, disagreements, and recommendations to the appropriate Government personnel. When requested, the ombudsman will maintain strict confidentiality as to source of the concern. The Ombudsman does not participate in the evaluation of proposals or in the source selection process.
