Description
This contract requires the contractor to provide any and all personnel, equipment, supplies, permits, licenses and services necessary to perform thinning with slash treatments, hand slash piling and fire line construction/maintenance. This is a five year, multiple award, indefinite quantities contract. Work will begin the base year 2002. Individual items to be performed will be by individual task orders. All work areas are located within the boundaries of the North Zone on Fremont National Forest. The North Zone is comprised of the Silver Lake and Paisley Ranger Districts. Work areas may be reached by Forest roads, that are accessible by standard two-wheel drive pickup (with snow tires and chains if needed) during normal operating seasons. No vehicles will be permitted to operate off system roads without approval of the Contracting Officer. In order to minimize soil erosion and damage to National Forest lands and roads, all roads are subject to closure during spring and fall break up or whenever soil or weather conditions require. Inaccessibility due to snow, fallen trees, slides, washouts on roads, or any other impediment to travel may or may not be corrected at the option of the Government. Walk-ins of up to one-fourth of a mile, by the most direct route, may be necessary to reach some project areas. It shall be the contractors responsibility to determine the most suitable route to the project area. No adjustment will be made to the bid price for walk-ins of one-fourth mile or less. This notice is corrected to read "This is a Total Hubzone Set-aside."
