Description

This is a notice of intent to issue RFP EASC EA1330-02-RP-0015 on a sole source basis under statutory authority 41 USC 253 (c) (1), Only one responsible source, to MicroTechnologies, Inc. 41 Main Street, Richmond, Maine 04357. Contractor shall provide services to conduct and report on results of environmental testing for Infectious Salmon Anemia virus (ISAV). The diagnostic tests are to include RT-PCR analysis and cell culture isolation for virus from seawater, sediment, surfaces of culture cages and invertebrates associated with Atlantic salmon culture cages that have experienced, or are in the vicinity of cages that have experienced, ISA outbreaks, and wild fishes from the embayments and rivers in the vicinity of Atlantic salmon culture operations. Contractor shall be US certifed by the USDA-APHIS specifically for ISAV diagnosis and shall possess extensive experience in diagnosing ISAV in non-laboratory settings (i.e. in the aquaculture environment). The period of performance shall be a base year of 8/15/02 - 8/14/03, with two option years. See Note 22.
