Description
This project is being funded by the Jobs-in-the-Woods program, thus competition is legislatively restricted to certain counties in Washington, Oregon and Northern California. Contract will only be awarded to a firm that is located in one of the following eligible counties: Washington: Okanogan, Douglas, Chelan, Kititas, Yakima, Klickitat, Skamania, Clark, Cowlitz, Wahkiakum, Pacific, Lewis, Pierce, Thurston, Grays Harbor, Mason, Jefferson, Clallam, Kitsap, Island, San Juan, King, Snohomish, Skagit, and Whatcom; Oregon: Wasco, Jefferson, Deschutes, Lake, Klamath, Jackson, Josephine, Curry, Coos, Douglas, Lane, Linn, Benton, Lincoln, Marion, Yamhil, Polk, Clakamas, Multnomah, Hood River, Tillamook, Washington, Columbia, and Clatsop; California: Siskiyou, Shasta, Tehama,Glenn, Lake, Trinity, Humboldt, Del Norte, and Mendocino. In addtion, the successful contractor will be required to submit the following data upon completion of contract work and prior to contract closeout: (a) Number of workers employed on the contact including managers, supervisors and support; (b) Number of days these workers worked on the contract (total based on an 8-hour work day); (c) Total amount of wages and benefits paid to these workers. (d) Number of workers, if any, considered to be displaced timber workers. Project will provide for replacement of the existing stream crossing with a bottomless box culvert. Work will consist of creek channel diversion, removal of concrete structures, installation of a bottomless box culvert and headwalls. The project also will require reinforced concrete roadway surface. Project is located on the Happy Camp Ranger District, Klamath National Forest, Siskiyou County, California. Contract time: 70 calendar days. Price range: Between $25,000 and $100,000. Bonding will be required of the awarded Contractor at time of award. NOTE: Due to the severity of the current fire season, funding of this project is not presently available. The Forest Service anticipates receiving additional funding before the end of the current fiscal year (September 30, 2002). This announcement is issued based on this supposition.
