- Description
- Notice of intent to negotiate a sole source contract with Pacific Salmon Commission (PSC) for the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS). Purpose of proposed contract is to coordinate contrubiton of US NMFS funds to a bilaterally funded tagging study on Fraser River late-run sockeye stocks in 2002. The PSC is a bilateral body supported by both parties of the U.S./Canada Pacific Salmon Treaty. the PSc staff is primarily dedicated to administrative functions to support the PSC and to stock assessment and management of Fraser River sockeye. Under the proposed contract, PSC will ensure that funds provided by NMFS are used to carry out the 2002 late Run Fraser sockeye tagging study as agreed to by the U.S. Section of the Pacific Salmon Commission. This is a cooperative study by both Canadian government and NMFS which PSC is coordinating. No other source is capable of doing this work. This is a simplified acquisition with an estimated value of less than $100,000.
