- VA Medical Center, Minneapolis, MN has a requirement and intends to enter in into sole source negotiations with Translogic Corporation to furnish all labor, equipment and material, which includes selective demolition of architectural, maintenance and repair to existing pneumatic tube system with mechanical, electrical and other miscellaneous appurtenances. The existing TRANSLOGIC CORPORATION Pneumatic Tube System includes: 1. (34) CTS-20 Stations; 2.(3) CTS-30 Stations; 3.(2) Remote Call Units attached to an existing CTS-30 Station to share same unit; 4. Three zones, 6-inch pneumatic tube system runs, to 2-out & 4-out transfer exchange units, located in five Interstitial and Penthouse mechanical spaces; 5. Existing three zones Blowers, Vacuum bypass valves, etc., are located in Penthouse mechanical space room 5N-105; 6. Computer Station Control Center located in ATS SHOP, Basement of Bldg. 70, room BC-105. New Construction: Install new and perform alterations to Pneumatic Tube System with band name only ?TRANSLOGIC CORPORATION? equipment. Includes architectural wall repair, fire stopping, mechanical, electrical, signal, and new computer w/ UPS backup power, new data upgrades and other appurtenance. Complete the new expansions with maintenance and repair alteration, upgrade of pneumatic tube system with new equipment: (2) two new additional zone expansions, blowers, transfer units, 6-inch pneumatic tube runs and installation of new (34) thirty-four CTS-30 station control panels to replace existing (34) thirty-four CTS-20 station control panels. All work shall be accomplished in accordance with Veterans Affairs Medical Center Project No. 618-00-109, Project Drawings No. 1064, 1064A, 1064B & 1064C and Specification No. 01-4. Contractor must be on-site for start-up and determination of fully operating system. The contractor guarantees the equipment against defective material, workmanship and performance for a period of not less than 1 year, said guarantee to run from date of acceptance of the equipment by the Government. The contractor agrees to furnish, without cost to the Government, replacement of all parts and material which are found to be defective during the guarantee period. Replacement of material and parts will be furnished to the Government at the point of installation. Cost of installation of replacement material and parts shall be borne by the contractor. All Specifications (No. 02-1), terms and conditions apply to this RFP 618-142-02 proposal. Proposals will be evaluated, considering Technical Capability, Past Performance and Price. Technical Capability and Past Performance are approximately equal, and when combined, are approximately equal to Price; however, VA will overall evaluate proposals, and may make award based on Best Value for the Government. Price factors will include best value, delivery period, warranty, etc. The Government may elect to award without discussions. Complete all work within 120 calendar days following Notice to Proceed. Liquidated Damages will be accessed at $2,400.00 per calendar day for every day exceeding the completion date. Proposals shall include Descriptive Literature, Representations and Certifications, address technical capabilities, past performance, price and price related factors.
