Description
US Army, Weapons & Munitions Evaluation Team, FSAC is purchasing a Digital Radiography System (Digital X-Ray Imaging System), which will be used for recording the performance of experimental large caliber munitions, warheads, weapons and their components. The Digital Radiography System is a commercially available system and should be procured through open competition. Although due to its technical capabilities, only a number of highly specialized companies have the capability to meet our requirements. Three companies have been identified as possibly having the technical capability and extensive product line that would be able to meet our requirements. They are Fuji, Kodak working with Virtual Media Integration and Titan. Digital X-Ray Imaging System which will be used for recording the performance of experimental large caliber munitions, warheads, weapons and their components. This will provide improved engineering support for the development of Shape Charge Liners, EFP?s (Explosively Formed Penetrates) and various other Warhead Firing Configurations in Building 660. The system shall include 16 ea. Imaging recording media and image reader / erasure system. Unique software capabilities will incorporate the image data being computer processed to produce exceptional, easy to view images for inspection through enhancement algorithms and manipulation. As well as the ability to store images: CD/DVD, the ability to store images in BITMAP or JPEG formats, the ability to export Image Files to DICOM storage devices, printers and networks, and an Inventory System for Image Identification and Retrieval are a must.
