Description
The US Army TCAOM-ARDEC is conducting a Market Survey to identify potential sources for supplying the U.S. Army with a:Lead Azide replacement and / or Lead Azide for use in munitions. Respondents should currently possess a manufacturing capability to produce the Lead Azide and/or the Lead Azide replacement for use in: detonators, fuzes and primers - Lead Azide RD-1333, per Military Specification MIL-L-46225/aerial mines - special purpose Lead Azide, per Military Specification MIL-L-14758/primary explosives - dextrinated (Type I) and colloidal (Type II) Lead Azide per Military Specification MIL-L-3055. Respondents should have sufficient production capacity to supply the U.S. Army a total quantity of 500 ? 1,000 pounds of Lead Azide (and / or Lead Azide replacement) per year. Interested firms who feel they are capable of manufacturing Lead Azide and / or an environmentally friendly Lead Azide replacement that meets military specifications MIL-L-46225, MIL-L-14758 and MIL- L-3055 are invited to indicate their interest by providing the U.S. Army a detail description (chemical and physical properties) of their Lead Azide or Lead Azide replacement including product cost, and a brief summary of their company?s capabilities including brief description of facilities, personnel, past production experience and environmental compliance as it relates to the product(s). A follow-up detailed questionnaire may be provided to survey respondents and on-site visits may be performed as a result of further analysis. Samples from respondents may be purchased for in-house preliminary testing. Also, interested firms should provide the manufacture?s name, address, point-of-contact with telephone number and e-mail address, size of business (small/large) and country where the facility is located.
