Description

SOLICITATION # N1344020027 The National Park Service intends to negotiate a Sole Source Contract for the following services with FAR NORTH AQUATICS, Fairbanks AK. The contractor will be required to analyze audio/video data from Yukon-Charley Rivers National Preserve, Arches National Park, and Bryce Canyon National Park . These data were collected using specialized audio/video systems and software developed by Far North Aquatics. These audio/video data are being collected with monitoring systems and software designed to collect several specific video and audio parameters, including: 1. Sound levels metrics, (1-second Leqs, L10, L50, L90, min, max, and exceedence values for dBA or 1/3 octave bands). 2. Digital recording (a 15 second digital recording) of all sound events exceeding a user defined threshold and duration. 3. Regular, periodic digital recordings to assess the percent of time natural and non-natural sounds are audible. 4. Digital video recordings of peregrine falcon nest sites if sound levels exceed a user-defined threshold. The duration of the video clips are 15 to 30 seconds long, depending on the user-defined parameters for the particular nest site. There will be 12 months of audio data from six monitors, and 3 months of video and audio data from ten monitors. All monitors collected decibel data 24-hours per day for the entire measurement periods. It is expected that there will be over 62,000 hours of decibel data collected; over 43,000 minutes of sample digital recordings, and over 22,000 minutes of event digital recordings. There will also be approximately 300 video recordings to review, each 15 to 30 seconds long. All data have been and will be collected using specialized software (SoundMonitor and BirdWatcher) designed by Far North Aquatics.
