Description
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is soliciting proposals in accordance with the Simplified Acquisition Procedures in Part 13 of the Federal Acquisition Regulations(FAR). This solicitation is open to small business concerns. The purpose of this procurement is to provide one full-time occupational safety and health specialist or safety engineer on-site (Atlanta, Georgia) to perform a broad range of occupational safety services. Description of Services: Provide one full-time occupational safety and health specialist or safety engineer on-site (Atlanta, Georgia) to perform a broad range of occupational safety services. Requirements include: Participating in safety surveys/audits requiring the inspection of machinery, equipment and working conditions in office areas, maintenance shops, laboratory and support areas, and on-site construction renovation projects to ensure compliance with occupational safety and health regulations and implement hazard prevention and control methods. Conduct job/process hazard analyses and personnel protective equipment assessments. Inspect specified areas for fire prevention and protection equipment, as well as obstruction in the means of egress. Conduct general safety training. Investigate ?near miss? incidents, accidents, and employee complaints to ascertain cause, for use in recommending preventative safety measures. Prepare report of findings and recommendations for corrective action. CDC furnished information and equipment include: 1) A set of specified sample survey worksheets, complaint/accident investigation forms, Job Hazard Analyses forms, PPE Assessment form, and Summary of Finds Report forms. 2) A list of supervisors for the areas covered under this project. 3) All safety equipment and supplies shall be provided. 4) An office area shall be provided within the Office of Health and Safety for use during this project. Potential contractors should have, at a minimum, a BS degree and 3 years of experience; resumes or, at a minimum, a description of educational background and work experience of individuals being recruited should be submitted with rate proposal for that experience level or other proposed options. Deliverables include: 1) Draft Report due within 5 days of completion of safety surveys, complaint/accident investigations, and job/process analyses. Report shall be provided to the Project Officer for review and comment and must include all observations and findings, recommended personal protective equipment, recommended corrective actions, recommendations regarding revisions to safety and health programs, etc. Copies of completed reports shall be submitted for each work area. 2) Final Report. 3) Monthly Reports shall be completed outlining activities including the number of work areas surveyed, complaint or accident investigations, Job hazard Analyses, training sessions conducted, consultations, meetings, etc. Period of Performance: This project shall begin within 15 days of award and cover a period of one year, and requires one safety and occupational health specialist/safety engineer working Mon-Fri, from 8:00 a.m. thru 4:30 p.m. Any responsible Offeror may submit a proposal by email or fax that will be considered by the Government. This advertisement does not commit the Government to award a contract. No collect calls will be accepted.
