Description

The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with National Coalition For Advanced Manufacturing (NACFAM) for additional expenses related to an ongoing project, to analyze the contributions of small-and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises (SMEs), under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(B) only One Source Reasonably Available. Specifically, the original scope of work, which has already been awarded under a fixed price Purchase Order, is now amended to add additional funds to the original scope of work and to extend the period of performance to complete unanticipated efforts associated with the focus group meeting regarding small and medium sized manufacturing enterprises (SMEs) in the defense supply chain. This is a sole source requirement considering the existing Contractor performing the work must be the Contractor to continue the work. A modification will be issued to the existing Purchase Order to cover the additional work related logistics & labor expenses on or about July 26, 2002. The period of performance will be extended sixty days. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability and capability to respond to the requirement in writing. This notice of intent is not a request for competition. However, the Government will consider all responses received by the closing date. Written responses to this synopsis shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill the requirement. A Request for Quotation (RFQ) is not available.
