- Description
- The National Institute of Child Health and Human Development has a need for support from a firm to provide data support and programming for the Division of Epidemiology, Statistics, and Prevention Research (DESPR). The NAICS Code for this acquisition is 541710, size standard of 500 employees. THIS IS AN 8(a) SET-ASIDE ONLY. DESPR conducts epidemiological, behavioral, and biostatistical research of disorders of reproduction, including infertility, high-risk pregnancies, fetal and neonatal loss; infant and childhood injury; infant mortality and birth defects; developmental disorders of childhood, including mental retardation and other deviations of normal human growth and development; child and teen high-risk behaviors; as well as many other related topics. The Division is composed of Epidemiologists, Statisticians and Social Scientists who are involved in multiple research efforts. DESPR requires statistical programming, database management and file handling, ad hoc programming and data entry to complete their research projects in a timely fashion. The NICHD is looking for firms who are able to provide a variety of support services under a Task Order contract arrangement. They should have available senior statistical programmer(s), statistician(s) with advance statistical training and experience with research projects, statistical programmer(s) with analytic and technical skills, and data technicians. Most projects will require extensive use of statistical packages including, but not limited to, SAS, Sudaan, or S-Plus and graphics packages such as SAS-GRAPH, S-Plus, or Harvard Graphics. This requirement is being conducted as an 8(a) competitive procurement; all certified 8(a) firms under the NAICS code 541710 are eligible to submit a proposal. The Request For Proposals will be released on or before August 1, 2002 here in the Federal Business Opportunities web site. Please note the mandatory requirement of placing project staff on the Government's premises.
