- US ARMY ARDEC Weapons and Munitions Evaluation Team, FSAC to purchase Radar System.This effort is being conducted in support of the Army?s experimental large caliber munitions; mortars, tracers, base bleed, conventional, anti - tank, rocket assisted, burst, warheads, weapons and their components. Weible Scientific A/S was found to be the only contractor that supplies tactical muzzle velocity radars and analytical radars ranging from the shoebox-sized to trailer mounted long range active tracking radar systems.Weible Radar Systems provide a unique self-calibrating technology, which have the following advantages; No need for regular calibration intervals, reduces maintenance and logistics costs. Radar systems also have a unique variable transmitting frequency option which ensures that several transmitting instrumentation measuring devices can be radiated along side each other without causing interference between the muzzle velocity radars and such equipment.The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within seven days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. 2. In summary, the rational for nominating Weible Scientific A/S proposal is based on the Weibel ?s 50 years of delivering optimal test equipment and a proven track record of guarantee high technology products. Weible Scientific outstanding previous experience on all kinds of weapons and ammunitions including base bleed and rocket assisted projectiles by several independent proving grounds and test facilities in the USA, Australia and Europe. Weible radars are used extensively in Yuma Proving grounds as the velocity and positioning measurement instrument. Weible Scientific A/S proposal was also found to be advantageous to the Government and acceptable due the systems self-calibrating and variable selectable transmitting frequency options mention above. Also, several employees of ARDEC?s past knowledge/experience with the Weible Radar systems. For instance, the ATF, bldg.7 has years of utilizing Weible radar system for velocity measurements in their facility. Also, many key personnel associated with the Advance Warhead Facility have had working hands on experience with the Weible radar system and its software.
