Description

Contractor shall furnish all labor, material, equipment and supplies necessary to install seven precast concrete vault toilets along the Dalton Highway (DH) in Alaska. Work consists of the removal for salvage of four existing cedar vault toilet buildings; removal and disposal of all items (other than the cedar building) associated with four vault toilets, including but not limited to concrete pads and metal vaults; furnishing of one precast concrete vault toilet; excavating and relocating one existing precast concrete toilet; installation of seven precast vault toilets, including one Contractor-furnished toilet and one toilet to be exacavated and relocated (identified above), and five Government furnished toilets stored in Anchorage, AK. Installation shall include transporting toilets to the project site, site preparation, placing the vault and toilet building, backfilling, and site grading. Four of the precast concrete vault toilets will be placed in the four cedar vault toilet locations and three will have new sites. The work also includes moving two skid mounted bear proof trash cans and approximately ten rock barriers. The work is located along the Dalton Highway at five separate wayside locations: Yukon Crossing Contact Station Wayside, DH mile post 56 (east side); Yukon Crossing Trucker's Wayside, DH mile post 56 (west side); Finger Mountain Wayside, DH mile post 98; Arctic Circle Wayside, DH mile post 115; Upper Dietrich Wayside, DH mile post 234. Onsite work is anticipated to begin July 1, 2003. However the Notice to Proceed will be issued as promptly as practicable after contract award to allow for submittal submission, review and approval, and to accomodate the lead times for manufacturing of the concrete vault toilets. Bonds will be required. This project is open to both large and small businesses under the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. The Government estimate is between $100,000.00 and $250,000.00. Plans and specifications are expected to be available on or about August 5, 2002.
