- This publication serves as a notice of intent by the Department of the Navy, Naval Sea Systems Command, Program Executive Office for Mine and Undersea Warfare to solicit for proposals, under full and open competition, to manufacture forty-two (42) MK 17 Mod 3 Magnetic Minesweeping Cables (CA-1452 Mod 1), 160 manhours of engineering services, and data. The 450-foot CA-1452 is used on the U.S. Navy?s airborne and surface minesweeping platforms in various configurations for magnetic influence sweeping missions. The Request for Proposal (RFP) is expected to be available on the Navy Electronic Commerce Site (NECO) on or about 16 August 2002. The solicitation and related files (i.e. CDRL?s, SOW, specification) will be issued electronically. Offeror?s wishing an electronic copy may download it directly to their workstation on or after the issue date by accessing the following address v ia internet site or URL: http://www.neco.navy.mil. No hard copies of the solicitation will be provided or mailed to contractors. CAUTION: This solicitation will be issued electronically as will any amendments thereto.
