Description
The National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders, National Institutes of Health, is soliciting comments on a draft statement of work for the "Feasibility of Genetic Testing and CMV Screening as Adjunct to Hearing Screening in the Newborn." This study is designed to address the relationship between genetic and audiologic/otologic information as well as to address the clinical validity and utility of genetic and CMV screening in the detection of permanent hearing impairment in the newborn and in the prediction of hearing impairment with onset during infancy. The statement of work is available on this Web site or at http://ocm.od.nih.gov/drc/rfp.htm. The Government intends to use the comments solicited to develop a Request for Proposals, which may result in a contract award. Please submit your comments to John DeCenzo at jd93o@nih.gov by August 9, 2002. Include your name, address, phone number, fax number, and e-mail address. If proprietary data is included in your comments, please mark it appropriately. Individual responses will not be acknowledged. However, the Government may request additional information or discuss information received with individual responders in certain cases. This Request for Information is for planning purposes only. It does not constitute an Invitation for Bids or Request for Proposals and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government to procure any products or services or pay for the information received.
