- Description
- The Maintenance and Logistics Command Pacific, Naval Engineering Division intends to contract for drydock and repair of the USCGC POLAR STAR (WAGB-10). This work is to be accomplished at the Contractor?s facilities. The definite work items will include, but are not limited to: Boiler, Repairs; Heeling Tube Fill Valves & Manifold, Inspect & Overhaul; Various Tanks, Clean, Inspect and Overhaul; Hull Plating, U/W Body Inspection & Preservation; #1A & #3A Main Diesel Engine Reassembly, ALCO 251 Plus Upgrades, and Center Section Overhaul; Port Forward Stern Tube Bearing Housing Repairs; Centerline, Port & Starboard Propulsion Shafting and Propeller, Removal and Reinstallation; Propulsion Shaft Coating, Inspect & Test; Propulsion Shaft Seal Renewal; Propulsion Shaft Bearing Stave Renewal; Propulsion Shaft Stern Tube Bearings, Check Clearances; Electric Meter, Calibration; Ship Service & Main Propulsion AC Generators, Inspect & Clean; Propulsion System Air Coolers, Clean, Inspect, and Testing; Tachometers (Critical), Calibration; Sea Valves Overhaul and Renewal; Sea Strainer, Inspect and Overhaul; Firemain Valves, Overhaul and Renewal; Air Receivers, Inspections & Test; AFFF Motorized Valves, Overhaul; Foam Deck Gun and Hydraulic Motor, Inspection, Overhaul and Repair; Steering Gear Rams, Repair; Rudder, Inspect & Repair; Rudder Stock Bearings, Check Clearances; Crescent Davit (Gen), Level 2 Inspection and Repair; 3 & 15 Ton Crane, Level 1 Inspection and Repair; Rudders (Exterior), Preserve; Drydock Provide; and Drydock Accomplish. The solicitation will be issued, in accordance with the Small Business Competitive Demonstration Program (SBCDP). The solicitation will be issued on or about 24 August 2002 with a proposal closing date of on or about 24 September 2002. Performance period is expected to begin on 08 January 2003 and complete on 01 April 2003. This will be an unresricted best value procurement. For Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation related contracts, loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at the prime interest rate to provide accounts receivable financing.
