Description

NA Project work includes a base bid and one option. The Base Bid includes the maintenance dredging of approximately 959,000 cubic yards of material from the entrance channel, turning basin, destroyer slip east, carrier basin, and pier C-2 at the U.S. Naval S tation, Mayport, Florida, with all dredged material being placed in the Jacksonville Harbor Ocean Disposal Area which is located approximately 4.5 miles from the tip of the south jetty of Jacksonville Harbor. Offshore disposal will require Coast Guard cer tification of vessels. Option A includes the construction dredging of approximately 74,000 cubic yards from the destroyer slip west at U.S. Naval Station, Mayport, Florida, with all dredged material being placed in an upland disposal site. Work will also include turbidity monitoring and endangered species observer monitoring. Magnitude of construction is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. The solicitation was issued on 3 July 2002, an amendment will be issued on or about 4 August with bids due on or about 4 September 2002. Solicitation was issued in electronic format only.
