Description
The United States Coast Guard, Civil Engineering Unit Juneau, Alaska is conducting a market survey to determine if commercial sources are available and capable to design, manufacture, transport, and install a new pre-engineered, factory prefabricated, self-contained, biological treatment system for replacement of an existing waste water package treatment plant located at U.S. Coast Guard Loran Station Port Clarence, Point Spencer, Alaska. The system is required to be capable of processing commercial wastewater with the following characteristics; biological oxygen demand (BOD) in the range of 100-300 mg/L and suspended solids (SS) in the range of 100-350 mg/L. Plant capabilities include achieving Class I effluent standards as described in National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) Standard No. 40, as well as achieving effluent with the following characteristics: Nominal 90% BOD removal; BOD and SS 30-day average less than or equal to 30 mg/L; BOD and SS 7-day average less than or equal to 45 mg/L; BOD 1-day maximum less than or equal to 60 mg/L; SS 1-day maximum less than or equal to 100 mg/L; dissolved oxygen less than or equal to 1.0 mg/L; chlorine residual in the range of 0.2-2.0 mg/L; pH in the range of 6.0-9.0; no oily sheen, no foam, and no offensive odor. Incidental services would include demolition and disposal of the existing 4,000-gallon wastewater package treatment plant and minor maintenance and repair work to the room containing the sewage treatment system. The anticipated delivery/installation period would be from July 1, 2003 to July 31, 2003. Specific Survey Information Desired: a) Name and addresses (including phone numbers and Point of Contacts (POC s) of firms interested in and capable of providing these requirements; b) Catalog and other product literature; c) Any contractor restrictions in meeting the requirement. For example indicate if your operations are limited to certain geographical areas; c) Indicate if your firm is a Small or Large Business, HUBZone and/or 8(a). All responses should be submitted by August 2, 2002 to the Contracting Officer, USCG CEU Juneau, P.O. Box 21747, Juneau, AK 99802-1747. This Request for Information (RFI) is issued for the sole purpose of obtaining information from prospective offerors. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. No solicitation will be issued at this time
