Description
Contractor to provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools and qualified supervision necessary for the phased renovation of the center and south sections of the 5th floor of Bldg. 1 (approx. 7800 GSF) to include demolition, asbestos abatement (by VA under separate contract), general construction, mechanical, and electrical at the V.A. Medical Center, Spokane, WA. All contract work shall be conducted between the hours of 4:30 PM and Midnight Monday thru Friday and during normal working hours on weekends and holidays in order to coordinate with Surgery on the 8th floor and Day Surgery on the 6th floor. No work which generates noise thru the building structure (i.e. jack hammering, rotohammering, sledgehammer work, installation of powder driven fasteners, etc.) shall be conducted after 9:00 PM. The work shifts outlined above will be subject to intermittent cessation of noise generating activities due to emergency surgeries, etc., which may occur at random times during the period. No additional contract costs will be entertained based upon this item of coordination for premium and/or overtime. Work conducted on weekends and holidays must have prior approval from the Resident Engineer. Solicitation packages will be available after 8/05/02. There is a non-refundable bid package fee of $45.00. Bids are due no later than 2:00pm local time on 9/5/02 in Building 5 Room 107, VA Medical Center Spokane, WA, 4815 N Assembly St, Spokane, WA 99205. Bidders are encouraged to attend the Pre-Bid Walk through on August 20, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. local time starting in Building #5, conference room 107.
