Description

NA The U.S Army Corps of Engineers, New York District is seeking to secure a fixed firm price construction contract to Construct stone revetment of approximately 360 linear feet along the northeast shoreline of Rikers Island. The revetment will consist of pl acing1-ton quarry stone armor units on a slope of 1(v): 1.5 (h) on an underlayer comprised of 140-260 pound stone. The width of the revetment crest is 10 feet, which will serve as a splash apron to resist wave overtopping. Toe protection consists of 1-ton cover stone. The structure is separated from existing ground by filter cloth. Grass will be planted landward of the structure to prevent erosion of fill material. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District intends to award a construction contrac t in response to Invitation For Bid (IFB) solicitation DACW51-02-B-0022, for the Emergency Shoreline Protection Of North Pump Station Rikers Island, Bronx, New York. This is an Unrestricted Procurement. The applicable SIC Code is 1642 and the NAICS Code is 23499 with a size standard of $28.5 Million. The estimated Construction Cost Range of this project is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The duration of the project is approximately 180 calendar days. The media selected for the issuance of the synopsis /solicitation and amendments shall solely be at the discretion of the Government; accordingly, the media utilized for this project shall be the Internet. Paper copies of this solicitation, and amendments, if any, will not be available or issued. However, CDs will be available upon written request stating the Solicitation Number, or Project Name, complete company name and Street Address (we will NOT deliver to P.O. boxes). Make check or money order payable in the amount of $10.00 to ?FAO, USAED, NY.? Sol icitation documents will be available on or about 05 August 2002. Bid opening date will be 30 calendar days following solicitation available date, on 05 September 2002 at 1:00 p.m. Bid opening will be held in room 1841 of 26 Federal Plaza, New York. Fir ms not certified will not be considered for award. Interested parties may download and print the solicitation at no charge at http://www.nan.usace.army.mil (contracting opportunities). Project specification files and drawings are portable document files (PDF) and can be viewed, navigated, or printed using adobe Acrobat Reader. Minimum system requirements are 486 Based personal computers, Microsoft Windows 3.1 or greater, 8MB application RAM. A registration page is attached to the website and prospective bidders and subcontractors are required to register and to receive notice of any amendments and /or addenda that may be issued to this solicitation.
