- Description
- Benefits are a major component of employee compensation, but costs to businesses to provide benefits can differ. This research would capture the cost differences between small and large firms. Potential sources of data for analysis include trade association data, information from the Current Population Survey, and other sources. However, the limitations of available data may force researchers into investigating the possibility of generating data from the Internal Revenue Service, Statistics of Income. This study is needed because a main source for employee benefits statistics comes from the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) and BLS has information only by size of establishment, not firm, making the information unusable for firm-size studies. Of particular interest are very small employers. Fax or Email proposals will not be accepted.
