Description
The Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) intends to award Modification No. 3 to Contract No. DTFR53-01-C-00056 with Ensco of Springfield, Virginia for the installation and testing of a train-bound deployable gage restraint measurement system (DGRMS) on a self-propelled railroad car now under construction. The DGRMS shall be suspended from the vehicle frame, be able to follow the rails as the vehicle frame moves on its suspension and as the rail position varies, and shall always maintain a set of operator prescribed vertical and lateral loads on the rails. This DGRMS will minimize the safety and reliability risks and increase the operational capabilities associated with the currently available GRMS technology while enhancing its performance. This synopsis is for information purposes only, and a competitive soliticitation is NOT available.
