Description

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Office of Health and Safety, has a requirement for services for the disposal of radioactive and mixed waste in accordance with Nuclear Regulatory Commission and Department of Transportation Regulations. The requirement includes collection and disposal of radioactive waste from CDC facilities in the Atlanta and Chamblee, Georgia areas, and quality assurance surveys. The following volumes of low-level radioactive waste are generated annually: approximately 200 bags of solid waste, 300 cartons of scintillation vials (100 - 20 ml vials/carton) and 300 liters of liquid waste. The anticipated period of performance will be for one year from date of award, with four one-year option periods, for a total of five years. Additional details and requirements will be described in the solicitation. The solicitation is scheduled to be released on or about March 21, 2002. Only written requests, directly from the requestor, for this solicitation will be accepted. Email requests will be accepted. No telephone requests will be accepted. Requests should reference the solicitation number, state the name of the firm, name of the requestor, mailing address, telephone number, fax number, and email address. The solicitation will also be posted to the Government Electronic Posting System (EPS) at www.eps.gov. Requests should be mailed to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, ATTN: Vivian S. Hubbs, 2920 Brandywine Road, Room 3209, Atlanta, GA 30341. This requirement is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside. The applicable NAICS is 562211 and the size standard is $10 million.
