Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Central Office, Washington, DC will be conducting a full and open competition for the award of a contract for an External Peer Review Program (EPRP). The purpose of this solicitation is to establish and operate an external peer review program that will provide the government with an independent and impartial evaluation of the quality of care delivered in the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) of the Department of Veterans Affairs. The External Peer Review Program (EPRP) will be a component of VA?s medical centers, Veterans Integrated Service Networks (VISN), and VA quality management program and will function to: (a) Identify and acknowledge the quality of care provided; (b) Identify and pursue opportunities for improvement in the quality of care; (c) Establish a comprehensive data base that will enable efficient comparisons of individual VAMC and VISN patterns of care to the VA system as a whole, other private and public sector hospitals, and, to the optimum standard of care based on the most current state of scientific knowledge. OFFERORS FOR THE EPRP MUST EITHER BE A PEER REVIEW OR PEER REVIEW-LIKE ORGANIZATION OR MUST COMMIT TO PERFORMING REVIEW FUNCTIONS USING A PEER REVIEW OR PEER-REVIEW LIKE ORGANIZATION. As stated in Section J of the solicitation, all offerors are requested to contact the contracting officer via e-mail to obtain copies of the additional data (Attachments). Offerors must provide a complete mailing address along with the name, telephone and fax number, and point of contact for your company. Faxed requests are acceptable. Please reference RFP No. 101-33-02 on all requests. The solicitation RFP issue date will be on or about July 31, 2002, with proposals due August 30, 2002, by 2:00 p.m. EST. NAICS code is 813920.
