Description

NA The U.S. Army TACOM-Rock Island, intends to issue a negotiated acquisition to procure 150 each Gunner's Auxiliary Sights (GAS, Armament Enhanced Initiative (AEI) version, required to support the M1A1 Tank Program over the next five years. The quantity is estimated at 30 each per year. The resulting contract will be a Firm Fixed Price, Requirements (IDC) contract. The GAS is an 8X, 8 degree field of view optical telescopic Abrams Tank gun aiming sight with a selectively filtered, periscopic light path. T he sight utilizes a two option, illuminated reticle with azimuth and elevation control. It is coaxially mounted in a high shock and vibration environment with the Abrams Tank main gun, and is articulated to minimize eyepiece movement during gun aiming mov ement. The GAS is used as both a primary and a backup sight. There is a requirement for first article testing. The estimated release date of the Request for Proposal is 7 August 2002. The solicitation will be issued electronically in accordance with FAR 4.501, 5.102(a)(7), and 14.205-c(c). Hardcopies will not be provided. CAU TION: THE SOLICITATION, AS WELL AS ANY AMENDMENTS THERETO, WILL BE ISSUED ELECTRONICALLY. Therefore, the Government is under no obligation, and is in fact, unable to maintain a bidders' mailing list. It is therefore incumbent upon any interested party t o periodically access the above internet address in order to obtain any amendments which may be issued. Failure to obtain any said amendments, and to respond to them prior to the date and time set for receipt of proposals may render a proposal nonresponsi ve, and may result in rejection.
