- Description
- The Department of Defense, Naval Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technology Division (NAVEODTECHDIV) is requesting information from vendors and manufacturers on Containment Vessels that have the capability of containing the hazards of chemical and biological agents that are explosively released. Descriptive literature should include product data sheets, product quality, reliability, company point of contact, and pricing information. Desired system parameters: 1) Be able to provide full containment of chemical and biological hazards that are explosively released 2) can withstand a detonation of the equivalent of 10 pounds of TNT 3) Can be reused 4) Trailer mounted, with the trailer capable of towing by ? ton commercial truck or common SUV 5) Entire vessel capable of decontamination and flushing 6) Sample port for hazard testing 7) Uses a remote door closure 8) Uses disposable bask ets for containing suspect devices and should also have a fragmentation-attenuation tube for securing smaller items 9) Contains an electrical interface to allow deliberate detonation of donor charge. The data collected from this market research effort will be utilized to better understand the ability of commercially available items to meet projected needs. Desired system parameters do not necessarily represent the minimum acceptable capabilities. This announcement is NOT a formal solicitation and is NOT a request for proposal.
