NA DESC: 6810-00-RC-46593, METHYL ALCOHOL, (METHANOL) (BULK TANKER), SOL ? DADW36-02-T-0132? DUE 073102 ? 301/677-7228. As ordered during the period of 1 October 2002 thru 30 September 2005 (base year with 2 options). This is a synopsis for a Commercial Ite m. This procurement is 100% set aside for small businesses. Contract award will be based on the lowest price quoted. The Standard Industrial (SIC) Code is 2899 and the business size standard is $500, NAICS code 422690. As ordered by the WASTEWATER PLANT , DPW, BLDG. 9581, Route 198, Fort Meade, Md. 20755, Supplied in ?Bulk? on Tanker Truck, Methanol is to be supplied ?as called for? during the period of performance specified herein: The Base year (CLIN 0001) beginning 1 October 2002 and ending 30 Septem ber 2003. The Methyl Alcohol furnished shall be regular grade and shall conform to the following specifications: Methyl ALCOHOL CONTENT, WT. 5, MINIMUM : 99.85 COLOR PT-CO UNITS, MAXIMUM: 5 ACIDITY, AS ACETIC, WT. 5, MAXIMUM: 0.003 PERMANGANATE TIME, MINUTES MINIMUM: 50 ACETONE CONTENTS, WT. 5 MAXIMUM: 0.0003 ODOR: CHARACTERISTIC FREE OF FOREIGN ODORS APPEARANCE: CLEAR AND FREE OF SUSPENDED MATTER WATER, WT. 5, MAXIMUM: 0.10 PRESERVATION AND DELIVERY shall be in accordance with the D epartment of Transportation for ?BULK? Deliveries and must be capable of pumping the contents in an above ground tank approximately with 5000 gallon capacity from the Tanker Truck. All deliveries shall be made by truck that is clearly marked with the comp any?s name, address and telephone number to the WASTEWATER PLANT, BLDG. 9581, Route 198, Fort Meade, Md. 20755, between the hours 0800 A.M. thru 4:00 P.M. (Hazardous Manifest and Material safety data is required with all deliveries) Delivery shall begin 1 October 2002. Inspection and acceptance shall be in accordance with standard commercial practices. NOTE: Since the 11 Sep 01 incident, all drivers for companies making deliveries to this installation, MUST be pre-registered with the PROVOST MARSHALL?S OFFICE (through the VISITOR?S CONTROL CENTER) at the 175 and REECE RD. ENTRANCE, and to make deliveries onto post thereafter, trucks must enter thru the ROUTE 32 and MAPES RD. ENTRANCE ONLY!!!!
