THIS MODIFICATION IS ISSUED TO DELETE THE PROVISION FOR REQUESTING COPIES OF THE SOLICITATION FROM THE CONTRACTING OFFICER. NO PAPER COPIES OF THE SOLICITATION WILL BE AVAILABLE. IT ADDS THE REQUIREMENT THAT COPIES OF THE SOLICITATION MUST BE DOWNLOADED FROM THE FEDERAL PROCUREMENT WEBSITE AT http://www.fedbizopps.gov. The Social Security Administration has a requirement for the removal, replacement, and installation of the existing irrigation pumping equipment to include control panel and branch circuit conductors from power distribution panel to pumping equipment control panel and conductors from control panel equipment to pump motor. The contractor shall also remove, replace, and install the existing transfer pump and motor for the underground water system in the Mechanical Room. All work shall be performed on-site at the Frank Hagel Federal Building, Social Security Administration, 1221 Nevin Avenue, Richmond, CA. All potential contractors will be required to pass a security background check before beginning performance on an award. The solicitation is scheduled for release on or about August 2, 2002, with proposals due approximately 28 days later. This requirement is a 100% small business set aside. Proposals received from other than small business will be deemed unacceptable and will be given no further consideration. No telephone requests for the solicitation will be accepted. Only written or fax requests will be accepted to the attention of Karen Giles, FAX (510) 970-8102.
