Description
A site visit is tentatively scheduled for 10 a.m. on August 15, 2002 at the USDA Service Center at 105 South Holland, Philipsburg, MT. If you plan to attend the site visit, please notify Marsha Harris at (406) 587-6859 no later than August 12, 2002. The Request for Quotation will be released on the Federal Business Opportunities page on or about July 31, 2002, with an anticipated quotation due date of August 28, 2002. The purpose of the acquisition is to perform a geotechnical investigation to determine the engineering characteristics of the rock foundation below the Lower Willow Creek Dam. Approximately 255 feet of dam drilling and casing instalation will be required. If funding becomes available an additional 98 feet of dam drilling will be required. The work also includes casing removal after completion of coring, permeability testing, and piezometer installation. Foundation coring below the core trench consists of all work and materials, including coring bits required to core approximatley 368 feet of the rock foundation and provide the revcovered core material to NRCS. If funding becomes available, an additional 154 feet of coring will be required. Permeability tests will be conducted during coring. The Contractor shall provide and set up all equipment necessary for these tests. Pressure packer, falling head, constant head gravity, or other approved tests may be used. NRCS will conduct and record test data after the Contractor has the necessary equipment in place. 28 permeability tests will be required for four drill holes. This may be increased to 40 permeability tests for six drill holes, if funds become available. After dam drilling, coring, and permeability testing are complete, piezometers will be installed in each drill hole. A detailed description of the piezometer configuration shall be provided to the Contracting Officer prior to installation. The performance period will be 50 calendar days for four holes or 73 calendar days for six drill holes.
