- Description
- The Centers for Disease Control plans to award a sole source 5 year contract to the State of Alabama for the provision of home health care services to Tuskegee Study participants, widows and children.The Tuskegee study concerned untreated syphilis in the negro male.The Contractor will manage and coordinate all required services for approximately 10 elderly patients, to include health care, homemaker & personal services directly related to the patients health needs, safety and well-being, including round the clock home care, social work services as well as coordinating transportation and accompanying patients to medical appointments.It is believed that the State of Alabama possesses the capability to coordinate & provide the various services state-wide needed to care for study participants and their survivors. All responsible sources qualified to provide these services on a state-wide basis may submit a response that will be considered by the agency. See Note 22
