Description
The Maintenance and Logistics Command Pacific, Naval Engineering Division intends to contract for various repairs and overhauls of USCGC HEALY (WAGB-20). This work is to be accomplished dockside at the ISC Pier 37, Seattle, WA. The definite work items include but are not limited to: Steam Heater Coil Repair, Install (19) Vertically Mounted Pump Stiffeners, Valve Overhaul Ballast-Main Drainage-Fuel Transfer, Main Steam System Valve Flange Conversion, Auxiliary Diesel Generator Silencing Alteration, Starboard Intake Vent Alteration, Firemain Valves, various Crane repairs, Anchor Windlass repairs, Warping capstan repair, and various Tanks clean and inspect. Period of performance will commence 14 January 2003 and conclude 7 March 2003. Concurrently during the performance period for this availability various other repairs and system grooms will be conducted by other contractors including a MDE overhaul and an IPP Groom. This solicitation will be issued pursuant to the Small Business Competitiveness Demonstration Program. Solicitation will be issued on or about October 15, 1002 with a proposal closing date of November 15, 2002. This will be an unrestricted best value procurement. For Women-Owned and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises to acquire short-term working capital assistance for transportation-related contracts, loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at the prime interest rates to provide accounts receivable financing. The maximum line of credit is $500,000. For further information concerning the STLP call the OSDBU at 1-800-532-1169.
