- Description
- Potential Sources Sought: The U.S. Coast Guard Engineering Logistics Center is seeking qualified sources that can provide the tooling necessary to perform complete MTU engine overhauls in support of 87' WPB Patrol Boats. Tooling includes but is not limited to various jigs, locking devices, adapters, gauges, brackets, pullers, test chambers, spanners, guide bushings, and press devices. It is the Government's belief that only MTU Friedrichshafen GmbH, the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of the 8V396TE94 Diesel Engine, or an authorized distributor can furnish the required tooling and ensure the proper form, fit and function in performing the overhauls. However, other potential sources with the expertise and required capabilities to furnish other than Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) tooling can submit such data discussing the same in duplicate within 5 days from the date of this announcement. The following information must be provided to evaluate the acceptability of the offered replacement tooling: 1) Complete and current engineering data to demonstrate the acceptability of the offered tooling (i.e. Salient physical, functional, and serviceability characteristics, or 2) Data that the offered tooling has been satisfactorily provided to the Government or the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). This data must include sufficient information to allow the Coast Guard to evaluate the proposal relative to the above requirements. No cost or pricing data is required. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION. THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY. ATTENTION: Minority, Women-owned, and Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs)! The Department of Transportation (DOT), Short-Term Lending Program (STLP) offers working capital financing in the form of lines of credit to finance accounts receivable for transportation related contracts. Maximum line of credit is $500,000 with interest at the prime rate. For further information, call (800) 532-1169. Internet address: http://osdbuweb.dot.gov.*****
