Description
NA Building 1. The work of this project includes installation of a new factory fabricated packaged 100 percent outside air rooftop air handling unit with electric cooling and two-stage indirect-fired natural gas heating; structural platform to support the roo ftop unit, factory fabricated double wall ductwork, sheet metal and thermal insulation; gas piping; decommissioning of dumbwaiter; removal of dumbwaiter cab, machinery, doors and vertical electrical and fire alarm connections to the roof top unit; modifica tions to the lightning protection system; automatic temperature controls; testing, adjusting and balancing; commissioning of the rooftop unit. Buildings 3 & 4. The work of this project involves modifications to air handling and related equipment in Build ings 3, 4 and 67 at the U.S. Army Solder Systems Center in Natick, Massachusetts. Specific items of work in Building 3 include modifications to two air handling units in the basement and to the air distribution system of the first, second and third floors, replacement and additions to the make-up air systems? automatic temperature controls, including space and building pressurization, and replacement of duct mounted smoke detectors in the make-up air system. Additional work includes the replacement of the c ooling tower on the roof and serving the cooling system for Building 3 and Building 4, modifications to the tower structural platform and modification to the lightning protection system. Specific items of work in Building 4 include the removal of six exist ing modular air handling units and the installation of new modular air handling units on the stairwells, modifications to the air distribution system on the first, second and third floors, replacement and additions to the make-up air systems? automatic tem perature controls, including smoke detectors in the make-up air system. Specific items of work in Building 67 include installation of a new DDC automatic temperature controls to provide for parallel operation of the two existing steam absorption refrigerat ion machines (A/C Plant), and replacement of the steam pressure reducing station.
