Description

The Bureau of Reclamation, Yuma, Arizona intends to issue a Request for Proposal for a firm fixed price contract for Modification of a Mohave Dredge Hydraulic System. The work to be performed under this solicitation is to convert an existing mechanical high pressure hydraulic control system to a low pressure hydraulic piloted control system of all the hydraulic functions on the Mohave dredge. The installation shall start on December 1, 2002 and shall be completed including all testing by December 22, 2002 or earlier. The Mohave dredge is an American Marine & Machinery Company, Inc (AMMCO) vessel, originally equipped with an AMSCO 12"-S3B-43 pump (14"x12"x43") driven by a Caterpillar D398B diesel engine (hydraulic start). The pump and engine are connected together with a Lufkin model DFV 300 CH triple gear speed reducer. The engine is connected to the speed reducer with a Wichita ATD-316 clutch, and the speed reducer is connected to the pump with a Dodge PX-240-BB coupling. The diesel engine is 850 horsepower and operates at 1200 rpm. The hydraulic systems is driven by CAT 3406B, 300 hp. Contractor shall provide all labor, tools, materials, equipments, facilities, and transportation necessary to modify hydraulic functions. The contractor shall include mobilization and demobilization to the Bureau of Reclamation (BOR), near Laguna Dam, Laguna Dredge Yard which is located approximately 20 miles outside Yuma, Arizona in Imperial County, California. For this acquisition, the NAICS Code is 811310 and the small business size standard is $6.0M. This acquisition is unrestricted full and open competition.
