***IMPORTANT***THIS POSTING IS FOR PROGRAM MANAGER FOR TRAINING SYSTEMS (PMTRASYS) USMC. ALL REFERENCES TO THIS ANNOUNCEMENT SHALL GO TO THE PCO JOHN E. LYNCH @ LynchJE@navair.navy.mil or SSGT KATE SCOFFIELD, USMC @ ScoffieldKD@navair.navy.mil. The U.S Marine Corps, PMTRASYS in Orlando, Florida announces it intention to release a Request for Proposal (RFP) for a competitive Firm-Fixed Price (FFP) hybrid contract. This RFP is for USMC Battle Simulation Center support services at designated USMC sites. The support under this task shall initially encompass simulation center support followed by full Life Cycle Contractor Support over five years (including options). The USMC simulation site requirements are worldwide in scope and the contractor must deploy support as designated under the contract. Support encompasses providing personnel, management, and specific expertise and services to support training activities that exploit modeling and simulation, information system training, C4I training and training technology. Supported audiences are Marine unit commanders and their staffs, Marine educators, Marines under training, developers of training systems, conceptual experimenters, and future evolving activities supporting the USMC. PMTRASYS intends to electronically release a draft RFP to interested parties in August/September 2002. Only those parties that respond to this announcement prior to August 9, 2002 will be receive a draft RFP for comments. Any party that responds to this announcement prior August 28, 2002 will receive an electronic copy of the final RFP. Due to the complexity of this requirement and the high level of expertise required PMTRASYS intend to release a 2-step RFP and to down-select only those parties who have the background and experience necessary to perform this effort.
