Description
. The Naval Sea System Command (NAVSEA) seeks participation and information from industry concerning cleaning equipment for installed non-skid coating surfaces onboard Surface Combatant Naval Ships. The equipment sought must be capable of cleaning at least 2,000 square feet per hour, using recycled ship-provided fresh water, at sufficient PSI (5000 -10000) to remove greases, dirt, and particulates that are not readily removed by normal sweeping. The equipment must be closed-loop filtration/deionizing capable of removing grease and dirt from horizontal, vertical, and curved surfaces (i.e. wherever non-skid coating surfaces are installed; both on aviation and non-aviation decks) and be of such size and weight that facilitates stowage on surface combatant ships. The equipment must not remove epoxy coatings and other non-skid surfaces, nor can it detract from operationally required coefficient of friction standards. The equipment/machine must be capable of accepting attachments that allow dirt and grease removal around non-skid installed hull protrusions, deck edges, deck tie-downs undersides, and protrusions such as I-beams, recesses, etc. The equipment supplier shall have the capability to provide on- site training in the operation & maintenance of the non-skid cleaning equipment. A manufacturer or equipment supplier submitting information for this request must provide, at a minimum, complete information on equipment configuration and operation, method and mechanics used for filtration and cleanliness of purified return water, required maintenance, cost, availability, all related experience in marine shipboard applications, and supporting information concerning sustained production rates of 2,000 sq/ft per hour dirt/grease removal rate. This request for information does not preclude the government from consideration for procurement of equipment or services as a result of information provided by this request. This request is for information only and is not a Request for Quotation (RFQ). All information concerning cleaning equipment for installed non-skid coating surfaces onboard Surface Combatant Naval Ships should be received within 90 days from the date of synopsis.
