- NA The government is conducting market research in order to fully develop a solicitation to procure Universal Protective Relay Test Sets. The government is giving prospective vendors the opportunity to demonstrate their products. The market research demonstra tion will take place on 13 Aug 02 at the 249th Engineer Battalion, Fort Belvoir, VA. The conference will increase the government?s knowledge of industry capabilities, and allow vendors to better understand the government?s requirements. Prospective vendors must be prepared to physically demonstrate their product, and be prepared to explain all of the Test Set?s capabilities including all types of relays that can be tested, and all capabilities of the software/programs. Personnel from the 249th Engineer Batt alion and TACOM-RI will be present to witness the demonstrations. Vendors are requested to bring their Relay Test Set, operating software, and all applicable accessories. Vendors should also provide a complete listing of what the test set can do with and w ithout the software, all catalogs and literature describing the product and software, and all catalogs and literature describing all accessories that can be used with the Test Set. A draft Description for Purchase , DFP-411, dated 23 Jul 02, containing the government?s requirements for the Relay Test Set can be accessed at the US Army TACOM-RI PROCNET website at https://aais.ria.army.mil/aais.htm. Click on Solicitations and Information, click on Draft Solicitations/Specifications/Scopes of Work, then click on Universal Protective Relay Test Set. Vendors are encouraged to review this DFP prior to the demonstration as the government is interested in any comments/suggestions that vendors may have pertaining to the DFP. The market research demonstration will be held in the 249th Engr Bn classroom, 2nd floor, Building 1416, Jackson Loop. For visitors and cars without DOD decals, entry to the base is through the Tulley Gate only, located on US 1 (Richmond Highway), on the corner of Backlick Road. Fairfax County Par kway (7900) is a block south of Tulley Gate on US 1. Vendors must stop at the MP station at Tulley Gate and obtain a visitor?s pass. Interested parties should contact the POC identified in this notice for further information and schedule of demonstrations.
