Description
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) intends to issue a competitive Request for Proposal (RFP) to address vehicle testing and test surface specification issues in a continuation effort to provide consumer braking information. This does not include the final selection of a test site or test facility to conduct the actual testing of new vehicles for the program; such solicitation may occur at a future date. This RFP will enable NHTSA to address several public comments received from NHTSAs' request for comments notice on the draft test protocol published in the Federal Register on July 17, 2001, wherein comments were solicited from interested parties on the agency's consumer braking information program. For informational purposes, the draft test protocol (docket no. 6583) may be accessed at http://dms.dot.gov. It is contemplated that a cost-reimbursement type contract will be awarded for this effort. The anticipated period of performance for this effort is nine (9) months. The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will reside on a WorldWide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application. The Internet site, or URL, for the FedBizOpps page is www.fedbizopps.gov or www.eps.gov. It is the Offeror's responsibility to monitor the Internet site for the release of the solicitation and amendments (if any). Potential Offerors will be responsible for downloading their own copy of the solicitation and amendments (if any). NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS.GOV ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (09-MAY-2002). IT ACTUALLY FIRST APPEARED ON THE FEDBIZOPPS SYSTEM ON 30-JUL-2002. PLEASE CONTACT fbo.support@gsa.gov REGARDING THIS ISSUE.
