Description
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services intends to award on a sole source basis under Simplified Acquisition Procedures a Conference entitled ?Hispanic Health Services Research Conference ? Improving Health Outcomes and Health Disparities? to Massachusetts General Hospital, Institute for Health Policy, 50 Staniford Street, 9th Floor, Boston, Massachusetts 02114-2698. The objectives of this conference are to: l) Make direct contact with Hispanic Serving Institutes (HSIs) faculty members, researchers, and other participants at the appropriate institutions informing them about the conference. This should include individuals from CMS. (Month 1); 2) Send out invitation letters and agenda to the participants for the conference. (Month 1); 3) Carry out all logistics for the Conference, i.e., Confirmation list, program support, lodging and meal, conference registration, nametags, materials, A/V equipment, workshops, and others. (Regular Activity); 4) Provide for ORDI project director review and approval of materials produced by the contractor to be mailed to the HSIs and other participants. (Regular Activity); 5) Work directly with ORDI project director in coordinating the conference activities. (Regular Activity). The Institute of Health Policy at the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and Partners Health Care System, Inc. (PHS) is dedicated to conducting world class research on the central health care issues of our time. The Institute is closely affiliated academically with the Harvard Medical School?s Department of Medicine and Health Care Policy and with the Division of Medicine at the Massachusetts General Hospital. These affiliations give the Institute the dual benefits exposure to the everyday problems of health care delivery and of access to some of the nation?s leading health services and outcome researchers. The Institute consists of approximately 25 researchers with expertise in: ? Managed Care, and its effects on the patient-physician relationship, quality of care, and physician behavior. ? Quality of Care, including specifically with hypertension, congestive heart failure, diabetes, and asthma. ? Primary Care, including determinants of duration of visit in primary care practice and cardiovascular diseases prevention practices in primary care, among many others. ? Program Evaluation, including generic expertise in design and implementation of evaluations of health care programs. If there are no affirmative written responses received within (45) calendar days from the published date of this notice, a purchase order shall be awarded.
